Rocket Ship Keeps Soaring

EDDYVILLE – Friday night’s doubleheader for an emotional one for the Eddyville Blakesburg Fremont Rocket baseball team. They were facing an always tough Knoxville, but they were saying good-bye to one their teammates.
The Rockets swept Knoxville 7-2 and 10-2 to remain pe4rfect on the season. In between games in a salute to military, they said good bye to Elijah Hartman, who heads out to serve his country.
Hartman made a pair of starts in the outfield before leaving the game to an emotional applause of recognition of the end of his career as a Rocket.
EBF failed to score in just one inning. They opened the first with a run, added two in the third, pone in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Defensively, the Rockets allowed singles runs in the third and fourth.
