Keota ranks second in conference

In February, every school in the South Iowa Cedar League was informed of a traveling trophy competition for proficiency in reading, math and science based on the Iowa Assessment scores.

Mr. Henrich, Principal and Superintendent, received word that Keota was second ranked in the conference out of the 12 schools in the conference.

Keota had a combined rate of 87% in reading, 90% in math and 88% in science, for the entire high school for the 2016-17 school year.

“We are always looking to improve but I think it says a lot about our students and our staff that we were able to rank in the high range,” Henrich stated.

Students will take the assessments again in February and will compete again for the traveling trophy in the conference.
