CEW Entertains residents at Fun Days

CEW Promoter Austin Bayliss, his wife Kelsey and their son Bristen pose with wrestler Chad Strong after the CEW show Friday night.

For Austin Bayliss, the saying “no matter where you go in life, never forget where you came from” rings especially true.

Never was this more apparent than last Friday, June 14, when Bayliss – the promoter of Central Empire Wrestling – brought his professional wrestling company to Keota for a show during the annual Keota Fun Days.

“This is really special to me to be able to bring CEW back to Keota,” Bayliss said. “I am entertaining my grandparents' friends, my parents' friends, my friends. Generations of families are going to come to support Keota and we are the entertainment and I am really proud of that. Big town, small town, any town, there’s never a day where I can’t get behind coming home and it’s truly amazing.”

Bayliss, a 2006 graduate of Keota High School, didn’t start his education in the town of Keota, as he attended kindergarten at Mid-Prairie Elementary in Wellman, Iowa. The following year, his father got a job with the Keota School District and that's when Bayliss’s love and appreciation for Keota began, and even though their family moved away a few years later, that appreciation and the friendships he formed while in Keota brought him back his senior year of high school.
